Girls Talk – Zoom

Weekly program for teenaged girls discussing relevant health topics. Skills in self-awareness and management of stress and peer pressure.

The Life Lessons Parenting Program

Class facilitated by an Early Child Development Specialist that teaching parenting skills, especially to newcomer parents. Provides resources, peer support, and an opportunity for networking and socializing.

Taking Charge! Diabetes Support Group

Informal space where adult clients at-risk of developing diabetes or living with the disease can offer each other peer support.  A Registered nurse facilitates the session focused on diabetes management, peer support and resource sharing.

Taking Charge! Diabetes Education Program

Adults clients at-risk or diagnosed with diabetes learn how to manage the disease and maintain overall health & wellness.  Once a week for 8 – 10 weeks, the program is facilitated by a Registered Nurse and includes health activities, short excursions and guest speakers.

Art from the Heart

Weekly support group that uses art as a means to support mental health and social engagement.

Inner City Women’s Collective Kitchen

Twice-monthly workshop where participants plan and cook a healthy meal at the HUC. Education on budgeting, shopping, and preparing health meals while reducing social isolation and addressing food access.

Early Steps

Family, group, or individual support for children 2-6 years old. Child friendly activities, including reading programs, with assessment of child development and milestones.

Life After Fifty Five L.A.F.F.E.Rs

Informal, weekly group to reduce social isolation amongst seniors and build strong community supports. Casual conversation aimed on improving English language skills and cultural awareness.

Anger Management for Men – Zoom

10-week class that teaches men strategies and skills to manage their emotions. Provides men a safe space to socialize. Discuss topics related to men’s health and well-being.

Anger Management for Women

In this 8-week series, a Social Worker facilitates this program that teaches women skills to regulate emotions and how to socialize. The group also covers topics related to general health and wellbeing and provides resources for future referral.
